At ICHA, we believe that lasting improvements in child health are achieved by strengthening local healthcare systems and equipping African clinicians to lead the way. Our 2027–2031 Strategic Plan provides a roadmap for expanding access to quality pediatric and neonatal care, building healthcare capacity, and advancing research and innovation that improves outcomes for children across Tanzania and sub-Saharan Africa.

Our strategy is organized around three interconnected pillars:

• Care – Delivering high-quality, family-centered healthcare services for newborns, children, and mothers.
• Capacity – Equipping healthcare professionals and institutions through education, mentorship, and practical training.
• Catalyst – Generating evidence, fostering innovation, and building partnerships that strengthen healthcare systems and improve child health across Africa.

Together, these strategic priorities provide the foundation for our work over the next five years as we pursue our vision of building a future where every child can survive, thrive, and reach their full potential.
